Please pray about participating in meeting these needs by giving to them, visiting the work or becoming an intercessor. India Madras, India has a population of 5+ million and is the capital and strong commercial center in a region of 60 million people. Lighthouse Christian Community, Madras is a thriving young church of former Hindus who have found a dynamic experience in Christ. EM is assisting Pastor Jaya for the next three years as he leads this church in its transition from a small to a medium sized church. We will provide for some of his support and for the larger facilities needed to accommodate their continuing growth as a church. (Support this project)
Myanmar Ruled by a Military dictatorship, this nation suffers from decades of abuse and neglect. Amazingly, the church, though persecuted with varying degrees of intensity, continues to grow and take new ground. We support the church-planting ministry of “Robin” and his team who travel at great personal risk into urban and remote provincial areas to preach the gospel for the first time to the people of Myanmar. Thailand We oversee and help sponsor a student center outreach on a major university campus in this land where Christians number less than 1%. The center is located near the “Golden Triangle” formerly known for opium trafficking. Here the borders of Burma, Laos and China intersect. Thai youth struggle with many issues, but are increasingly interested in understanding Christianity, Western culture and English. This interest creates an opportunity for our missionaries to build friendship bridges that enable them to explain Christ in an understandable way. (Support this project)
Philippines - Sidewalk Sunday Schools (SSS): Joan Lovino and her dedicated team of 60 young adult workers reach nearly 6,000 children weekly through a network of 60 evangelistic outreach centers in some of the roughest slums of Manila’s inner city. We provide personal assistance to SSS leaders and to the ministry in general. (Support this project)
- Asian Seminary of Christian Ministries: We provide scholarship and housing assistance to deserving students from Indochina who have displayed leadership potential. We believe that investing in the development of Asia’s leaders is one of the best uses of Western church missions funds. (Support this project)
- House of Light Foundation (HOL): Among its many projects, HOL supports a home for children who have suffered from sexual and physical abuse. The children are raised in a family setting that encourages their spiritual and vocational development. We want to make a difference in these lives that have already seen so much pain. - Lighthouse Christian Community: Chuck and Sherry Quinley planted and pastored Lighthouse for 12 years, then turned the reins over to the competent hands of their Filipino pastoral partners, Albert and Barbara Clavo. A visiting church leader recently remarked, “Lighthouse is the healthiest church I have ever seen.” A systematic discipleship and leadership development program has yielded thousands of members and hundreds of members who are competent in ministry. These have scattered across the Philippines and beyond to plant churches and launch new missions outreaches. EM has a special relationship with Lighthouse and supports its ministry advancement and its free medical clinics.
Plant a new church in a major city in the Philippines for $5,400 a year/$450 a month $1,000 will provide a two day medical outreach to 350 people in an impoverished area. (Support this project)
- United Christian Broadcasters Initiative for Asia: EM personnel founded and are currently working with United Christian Broadcasters International and a network of Filipino church leaders to expand the first FM Christian music network for the nation of the Philippines. The Edge Radio is already available to 6 million listeners on terrestrial FM and a million more via satellite dish. A movement is starting now to “redeeming the airwaves” over the nation of the Philippines. EM’s role as a catalyst in this project has been instrumental in bringing the team together and attracting the substantial resources needed for a venture of this size.
One of our key concerns in the Philippines is to see Christian music penetrate pop culture and gain radio airplay. The average age in the Philippines is 21. Imagine the role music can play in truly connecting with them for the cause of Christ! If a mainstream acceptance of Christian music can be accomplished in the Philippines it has major implications for other nations such as Korea and Indonesia which also have strong, growing Christian populations.
Plant a Radio Station in the Philippines: You can plant a radio station in a community of 50,000 or more for only $2500. This will buy the equipment needed to draw our signal down from the Mabuhay satellite and rebroadcast it on a low power community radio transmitter. Dozens of communities are waiting for their chance to receive Christian music and teaching. You can be the answer to their prayers. (Support this project)
Ukraine God’s Gift Church, led by Pastor Sergey, is a young congregation reaching out to the people of Donetsk (2 million) not too far from Chernobyl, the site of the infamous nuclear reactor crisis. Filipino missionary, Sarita Ladios is supported by Lighthouse and IM as she assists in the overall development of the church’s and heads up the street kids outreach. Ukraine has over 20,000 children who live in the underground sewers in the winter to escape the brutal cold. This is a crucial ministry to a nation seeking to define itself after generations of living under communism. EM provides support for Sarita and for the church in general as they expand to larger facilities. Support this project [reduce the font in that statement and hyperlink to the paypal page]
Restricted Access Country (RAC) Missions Assistance We provide monthly support & pastoral care to missionaries serving in nations closed to Christian ministry. For safety we cannot list their names or the countries in which they serve. One of these works with a medical mission providing life-saving heart surgeries to children from the high Himalayas as an avenue to share the story of Jesus with the affected families. Emerge Emerge is our latest ministry venture, a dynamic effort to reach youth and young adults on their own terms. This evangelism and leadership-development ministry consists of the emerge network, a media-rich training website, life-changing events and a publishing company for Christian resources made especially for Asia. Asia receives 1/1000 of the Christian media of the West meaning that 1,000 books will be published for American Christians before one will be published for Asians. Help us empower emerging leaders from emerging nations. (Support this project)
