Emerge is an innovative missions outreach to young people in emerging nations using dynamic visual media, catalytic events, and a vibrant online community as our primary strategies for effecting the transformation of their lives.

Our Mission: 

“To passionately engage 1,000 young leaders from emerging nations, helping them to develop a dynamic spiritual core, competence in leadership and the skills to use modern media to communicate Christ and His Kingdom as prophets to their nations.”

The Need

Christians in much of Asia number only 1% of the population.  They are God’s precious mustard seed, sown among their people.  The cultivation of that seed must be the highest priority for the church.  This group is our best hope for reaching the nations.
 
If Christians number only 1%, then they must be the most amazing 1% in their nations.  Emerge exists to aid in the personal development of 15-30 year old Christian leaders in the emerging nations of the world.   We earnestly invest our resources and energies in strengthening their development in three key areas:

• Spirituality
• Leadership Competency
• Communication Ability, especially through Visual, Story-based Media

Media Missionaries

The world is demonstrating a profound shift from written word to video screen as the primary means of communicating big ideas.   Film makers in every nation have become the new prophets, directing the focus and values of their cultures.  Emerge provides significant training to assist emerging leaders in becoming powerful communicators using visual media means.

At Emerge, we are particularly interested in developing outreach leaders and media missionaries for the harvest of Asia.  We want to see them having the confidence and ability to get a fiery vision, make a strategic plan and then execute it effectively through a team they have developed, all for the sake of the Kingdom.

Our Vision
We see…

• A generation arising from the 10/40 Window nations with passion for Christ and unbridled zeal to communicate the gospel to their nations.
 
• The development of an authentically Asian church, expressing its faith in Christ through Asian forms of community, worship and the arts.
 
• Campuses across Asia churning with a visitation from the Holy Spirit.
 
• Thousands of small groups shaping lives through the power of community and intentional discipleship
 
• Emerging leaders competently harvesting Asia and acting as agents of cultural change despite hardship and persecution.
 
• Emerge leaders contributing to this move of God through our passionate engagement with next generation leaders whose tender lives are now being shaped in preparation for their last day’s mission.

Strategies

We will evangelize, disciple and develop emerging leaders through our 3 C’s:

Christian Media:  Film makers are the new preachers in this generation. Emerge understands the power of modern media and works to see its power released into the harvest field of Asia by creating media and by training emerging leaders in media production so that we will see Christian media for and by the young.
 
Catalytic Events: Our life’s path is altered through moments of decision that lead us to take new directions.  Emerge events create an environment where conversations with God often take place, then follow up with a community-driven process to help young leaders begin to walk out those decisions.
 
Community:  The Emerge Network is an online community for emerging leaders from emerging nations.  In this community bonds are formed that will undergird the  leader in their ongoing development as an agent of change.  Seasoned leaders guide the community’s overall development.

Current Activities

The Quest: Think “fear factor” as a discipleship tool.  This guided  group experience in spirituality challenges participants to complete ten action quests in response to ten clear commands of Jesus.  Life change occurs as we obey the teachings of Christ no matter what the cost.  These groups discover the power of true discipleship.

Emerge Campus Tour: Emerge partners with Christian leaders and organizations to bring a unique competence-building to university campuses in Asia as an intro leading to further ongoing discipleship ministries on campus.

Youth Events: Emerge events feature window-pounding worship, training and encouragement from creative and spiritually mature leaders and networking opportunities with others who share the same calling and ministry. The purpose of these recruitment events is to evangelize the lost, synergize the Body, and to motivate attendees to engage their culture forcefully.

Pastor’s Training: Leaders need training more than anyone.  Emerge is committed to strengthening the body of Christ by serving it’s leaders.  Our online and live training programs for young church leaders energize the churches they represent, leading to more abundant fruit.

Media Camps: No generation in history has been more influenced by media than this one. Christians have the most important message in the world and need to become experts in communicating it through the amazing opportunities provided to us by new media. Media Camps give young leaders the tools and training they need to connect their generation to the Gospel.

Emergenetwork.org and The Pulse: Mentors from around the world share their hard-earned wisdom with young leaders through the website and monthly “The Pulse” e-letter. Free training and motivational resources are available online.  International content is obtained through networking relationships with large American ministries.
