Jim & Tet Reyes
Jim & Tet Reyes
Jim Reyes is a native of Manila. He was saved at an early age and met Tet in the young adult group at church. She would eventually become Jim’s wife and bear him a cute, intelligent daughter named, Charis. Jim worked with the Far East Broadcasting Corporation for 15 years in various roles as a broadcast producer and the head of their information systems department. He came to have a deep burden for a radio ministry that would reach youth and young adults (most of FEBC's programming was either preaching or classical music, both catering to a much older crowd). Jim was at a crossroads and had to follow his heart. He resigned his secure position with FEBC and gave up the housing that was provided on their compound and joined us at The Edge Radio, the Philippines first contemporary Christian music FM network.

At that time were producing 24 hour radio content on the Internet, the national satellite dish network, and on two small stations but no high power ones. Ron and I were so grateful that the Lord had sent Jim with all his radio experience to be a partner with us. I prayed about Jim’s role and got an unusual answer from the Lord, “Send Jim to Davao.” Wow! What a loss to us in Manila, but what a gain to the people of Davao in the Muslim-dominated South Philippines. We had an opportunity there to take a defunct FM station and turn it into The Edge for Mindanao. Jim’s experience would make him the perfect man for the job. He and Tet prayed and agreed to a term there as a pioneer. Nine months later, 104.3 FM is now dedicated to the Lord and wide open in ministry. Our afternoon show receives 300 calls and over 2,000 sms messages each month from young listeners eager to interact with station staff.
