MediaLight alumni, Franklin Nissi conducted media training to youth in India, Banglore on May, 9-17, 2016. The training was given in two batches, for youth from different non-profit organizations and local churches.

The students, in the first batch of the training, came from various non- profit organizations. Our alumni Franklin gave the weeklong training for18 students, between the age of 17-20. The training covered three theoretical and three hands-on classes on photography.

“I couldn’t believe myself, it was my first time to speak before people, but I realized the training I took at MediaLight helped me to gain confidence, says Franklin.

The second batch of the training was given for students that came from various local churches. The 3 weeks long training had 19 participants between the ages of 18-40, including a pastor of a local church. Franklin gave photography and videography courses using MediaLight curriculum.

After the training two of the students started to help in the church media department, where Franklin ministers. ‘When I first came to ML I had zero knowledge about the camera, that was the first time I started to use DSLR camera. I learned about the camera at ML and the Voicing course helped me to stand up and speak in front of people with confidence. And I am also able to develop my skills as I come back every year as a staff.”

Franklin is currently working in his church Media Department, helping his church in photography, videography and editing of sermons and church events. He also works as a freelance photographer in various sports events.
